Window shutter in room (the tower suite) was broken. I booked 2 rooms and was charged 4 x on 2 cards. Hotel is average. Financed through a group of investors headed by silent screen legend Charlie Chaplin, the Montecito Inn opened on February 16, 1928. Staff lovely and generally friendly. Night desk staff had no access to any refreshments. Sort of like a middle of the road European hotel in a non major city. The hotel was so nice! This was attributed to measures taken during CoVid times to protect guests. The Montecito Inn offers the perfect blend of classic style, comfort, convenience, and personalized service. This time, we booked a larger room and it was fantastic- spacious and comfortable. But, the room was so nice, it made up for it. When I return to Santa Barbara, I would stay at the Montecito Inn. Management is into blame shifting. The place is small and kinda quaint; it definitely had an up market feel although I was pleasantly surprised at the price. Even the hidden charge for parking was rebated back to me. WE stayed in many hotels, and find this to be the bottom 10% of in our experience.
