Join us for a easy and mostly level six mile (round trip) hike along scenic Carpinteria Bluffs to the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park and lunch in downtown Carpinteria We'll start at the Carpinteria Bluffs Trailhead at the west end of Bailard Avenue and hike northward along the bluffs, where migrating Grey Whales are often spotted, and then along the beach. Dogs and seals make a bad mix. A hard fought battle by the local Carpinteria community succeeded in preserving the bluffs for all time. As you walk out onto the bluffs, you may come upon one of our are’s most valued treasures: the harbor seal colony, where the seals bear their young, breed and haul out to rest.
