1997 - present* (with "00" as the 9th and 10th digit) I tried to Carfax mine and found out that you can't Carfax pre 1980 cars because they don't have the long VIN.Das passt schon eher alles:-))! When I went to register it in MS the state said that that number had already been used and they could issue me a number and a new serial plate to attach to the car with STC23825 STC= State Tax Commision.
