I mean sure, it's ok that the main boat keeps changing throughout the episode and licence plates are changing from location to location shooting in "Sydney" Australia, but they could have at least realized that cars drive on the other side of the road or at least attempt to show one a right side drive car. Poor! Now they must fight to the death while people and whole cities get in the way. Was this review helpful? I may have recognised a face or two in the cast, but it doesn't matter, and the special effects are only the tiniest bit improved, but they are wasted, a giant shark versus a robotic shark sub with the personality of KITT from Knight Rider is ridiculous, as before it is awful, a stupid story, and a waste of time science-fiction horror. This "turkey" has more errors than Windows 3.1. If there was one word to describe the script, bloated would be it. It just so happens that the navy has been testing its recent creation of a prototype shark-like submarine named Nero. The reasons why I have very generously rated this 4/10 however are down to the CGI being slightly better than in many other such bad creature movies, the film moves at a fast pace & in particular the relationship of the two lead characters, who happen to be a married couple (in the plot).
When a massive Megalodon shark is released into the ocean's waters, a Navy team is forced to utilize a monstrous shark-shaped submarine to combat the deadly creature before it's wake of destruction covers the entire planet. Now the one part of the movie that did not make any real sense was why did the female character fly off to see another female character to tell her about where the Mega Shark was going to be? 18 out of 28 found this helpful.
MEGA SHARK VS. MECHA SHARK is another giant monster flick from The Asylum boasting Z-grade CGI effects and a really stupid plot. The recently thawed creature is able to sling the tug boat through the air and knock off the head of the Sphinx 112+ miles away. Was this review helpful? This is a great movie to sit down and make fun of with your friends. Mecha Shark and mega shark then engage in battle, the megalodon is able to swerve a launched torpedo, which ends up hitting and sinking a ship, then another failed torpedo launch causes a landslide, which sends the submarine offline, and knocks Rosie unconscious. Countries worldwide put their ports on lockdown, and the United Nations propose to develop a weapon to combat the shark. Was this review helpful? But is the machine able to contend with the living and breathing, swimming killing machine?
The concept was ridiculous in the first place, but two thirds of Mecha Shark is rather indifferent until the last act really picks up.
Eat your heart out Danny Trejo.
Elisabeth Rohm and Christopher Judge are commanding leads. 0 out of 0 found this helpful. The screenplay by H. Perry Horton is intelligent and sharp witted, pulling no punches as it questions the wisdom of modern science while confronting humanity's misguided efforts to control the earthly environment. 7 out of 18 found this helpful. It seems to homage TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA in the tale of a giant megalodon terrorising mankind, leading scientists to build a giant mechanical shark to combat it. Pony tailed Rosie (Elisabeth Röhm) is the pilot of the battery operated mechanical shark even though it has a computer that can do it.
