SCHMIDT, Milton Conrad "Milt", retired player, coach and general manager of the Boston Bruins, of Westwood, formerly of Needham and Dover, passed away on January 4, 2017 at age 98. We enjoyed our times with him and Marie and have many happy memories. Milt, Rest in Peace, Thanks for your devotion to hockey and the Boston Bruins. Bauer teamed with Dumart for assists on the 200th goal of Schmidt’s career in a victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.Schmidt retired as a player in December 1954, when he was named the Bruins’ coach. He was 98.
He endured as the only Bruin with his named engraved on the Stanley Cup four times. Milt died on a given date and his death was because of a reason. Don & Helen Marcotte I remember what a big presence he was to be around.
