This year was much different. The room we occupied was adequate except for the extreme noise of cars and motorcycles driven by rich, macho boys, revving their engines up and down the highway in front of the hotel and up and down Newport Coast Drive.

Amenities include five outdoor pools, tennis, golf, fitness center with a sauna and a steam room, five outdoor whirlpool spas, walking and biking trails, barbecue areas, restaurant, convenience store and …

While waiting, I spoke with the desk manager, Kim, and explained my disappointment with our room and the lack of resort amenities that were closed due to COVID-19. The constant racket of tree trimmers, laundry carts, grass cutters, and just so much other noise was oppressive. Pool chairs are spaced out and they are monitoring to make sure people are not putting them together. We were sad that the kids club and activities were closed but what else can they do during Covid.
