Take a spiritual concept and really make it gruesome.

Although the description of the film may seem bloody and gory, it was not necessarily the most explicitly violent movie i've seen. Anyone who bashes it is simply not giving it a chance or doesn't fully realize the complex dialog and imagery around them. Rinne, also known as Reincarnation in English, is so far one of the the best if not the best horror film so far. Quite a shock! Was this review helpful? The story reminded me somewhat of the Roman Polanski film "Repulsion" about a woman who goes mad and has hallucinations.

Many years ago, a series of terrible murders took place at a particular hotel. Well, I kept hearing all sorts of disappointing statements about Reincarnation.
The chills are done in the context of the story which makes the movie interesting, instead of it just being a slasher film like American audiences are used to. Was this review helpful? That is, until she goes to the place where the young girl was killed and finds someone else there instead... A Japanese actress begins having strange visions and experiences after landing a role in a horror film about a real-life murder spree that took place over forty years ago. A young girl learns of the urban legend of Teke Teke after her friend is killed in a gruesome way. Her visions intensify when the film's director takes the cast to the real hotel where the actual murders happened, for inspiration.
Movies like the Sixth Sense or The Usual Suspects have effective twists as, for the average viewer, they're not easy to see coming but still logically make sense. As part of the filming, the director, crew and cast go to the actual hotel in which the multiple murders occurred. Was this review helpful?
Was this review helpful? All in all, this is definitely an enjoyable and scary movie to watch but beware you may have nightmares after it's over. The Ring, The Grudge, and Darkwater are just three examples of Japanese horror films that have been adapted for that Western English speaking market who would otherwise be unable to enjoy the originals. For me, this film spilled the goods far too early. What is her connection to her character and the ill-fated hotel? INFECTION takes place in a dark, isolated hospital, where one doctors mistake has led to dire consequences for a patient.
