Sand can be made from the rock crusher with any rock type.
It is only visible to you. Producing Oxygen by using the rust and salt found in the rust biome in a rust deoxidizer provides a much longer lasting solution as there are huge quantities of rust in the rust biome and salt is found in similarly large quantities in the Tide Pools biome.
Or maybe the deoxidiser is actually doing nuclear physics on the iron and sodium to convert them to oxygen and chlorine . Question: Does your version of the SPOM just connect onto other mods made identically? Note that additional late-game oriented patterns may be found in my late-game guide; I've yet to convert those over for use here.
There's a little more work left to fully complete the SPOM, so I advise continuing on.
Obtaining a decent Chlorine supply and a bit of Refined Metal are the only real limiting factors, so something like this can easily be built once you've started exploring either a Caustic or Rust Biome. That's far longer than most people play the game for. Cooling loops work well as a 'component' of other, more advanced construction patterns, so I'd like to demonstrate one in isolation before using it as part of something else in the next few sections. That's far longer than most people play the game for.
Or I get overwhelmed, drop the game and come back unable to figure out how I had things set up. The iron is pretty nice to have and I would actually say that the newer version is better than the old one for that reason.

Chloride doesn't seem like a useful resource until you end up on a map without a proper supply and you realize your toilet water cleaning setup is full of germs because you lack chloride. Hope this helps some other people adjust to the new features! Hey great guide, it's helped a lot. This item is incompatible with Oxygen Not Included. In your chlorine room, do you not have the pump that's connected to the cycle sensor also connected to power? My oxygen or food systems collapse. Unfortunately, I don't think ONI ever made any pretense of following conservation of chemical elements, even less so than mass or energy, it would be faster to number the buildings that DO conserve chemical elements. I also see no pictures for the Washroom Sieve Loop.

Not with Salt (Water) being a renewable resource on all maps except for the badlands and the hundreds of tons of Rust available on all maps with the corresponding biome. I just tamed a salt water geyser and its outputting at 210F and this setup cools it down to 60F before pumping it into my base. I wish you good luck!

Thanks You say cutting the automation wire turns it off, but mine won't even turn on without power. Steam Turbine Cooling (Step 1) I can see the idea with it, but it sucks if you end up with rust and no salt. Some maps I don't feel they're worth using but the rust oxidizers shine where your cool water geysers are far away and electrolizers will take a while to set up. There's enough rust on the map that you would need to play for several thousand cycles to actually run out. For map types where Water is comparatively scarce, you'll probably want to build this sooner rather than later. Power from Idling (Automated Manual Generators)

A good portion of the map is hot sand, which makes things a lot more difficult. Sodium Chloride (salt) + Iron Oxide (rust) = Oxygen + Chlorine + Iron Ore + ???
The new rust biomes provide the solution. Am i missing something? You can switch to an autosweeper and some conveyors later on if you really want to save on dupe labor.
